A Child's Place Preschool

7:00 - Opening

When the children arrive in the morning they are welcomed by music and breakfast which is set up buffet style so they can learn to serve themselves.  Our last friend is served breakfast at 7:45 so clean up may begin promptly at 8:00.  At this time, children also have free play while awaiting the arrival of their friends.

8:30 - Centers and Art

During this time, we work on:

• Math
• Language
  
• Science
• Art that relates to our weekly theme
  

9:30 - Snack Time

Snack is provided by the preschool and children sit together at the tables to enjoy snack together.  The children also serve their portions at snack time and learn to clean up their spot at the table.

9:45 - Circle time begins.

Every circle time includes the following structure:

• Good Morning Song
• Calendar
  
• Weather Chart
• Helper Chart
• Book Relating to Our Weekly Theme
• Learn a New Song Relating to Our Weekly Theme
• Group Game
• Group Discussion About Our Weekly Theme
  

10:30 - Outside play

11:15 - Pre-decodables, Site Words, Music & Movement

• Children learn their first 20 site words (or are exposed to depending on age)
• Children learn the "Open Court" Kindergarten pre-decodable and decodables
• During music and movement they learn new songs as well as keeping rhythm, patterns, and large motor exercise.
  

11:45 - Lunch

A healthy lunch is provided by the preschool.

12:15 - Story time while on mats

12:30 - Nap time

2:45 - Snack time

Snack is provided by the preschool and children sit together at the tables to enjoy snack together.  The children also serve their portions at snack time and learn to clean up their spot at the table.

3:00 - Literacy Circle Time.

Every literacy circle time includes the following structure:

• Vocabulary words beginning with the letter of the week.
  
• Game relating to the letter of the week.
  
• Book relating to the letter of the week.
  

3:30 - Letter worksheets or group art project

4:00 - Free Play

4:30 - Outside play

5:30 - Preschool Closes
